Tunisia announced on Sunday that it will offer new visa entry facilities for Egyptian citizens and tourists at its border crossings, according to Deutsche Presse-Agentur. The Tunisian authorities, through their embassy in Egypt, have limited these facilities to businesspeople, researchers, doctors, and other distinguished professionals, as well as senior government employees and individuals who hold a Schengen or US visa or residency permit.
The new measures will also apply to tourist groups arriving through Tunisian travel agencies, so long as a representative from the agency is present at the airport. Tunisian authorities will require travel agencies to provide a prior list of names of travelers requesting the visa, along with all the required documents.
