Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting Thursday at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, addressing a range of domestic and regional issues. The Prime Minister began the session by offering heartfelt congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victory. He extended congratulations to General Abdel Megid Sakr, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and the entire Egyptian people on the “glorious historical occasion.”
Madbouly noted that this year’s anniversary arrives amid exceptionally complex regional and international circumstances and a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. He stressed the imperative of preserving the security and peace Egypt currently enjoys and remembering the tireless efforts of the brave heroes of the Armed Forces and Police to safeguard the nation’s capabilities.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted President El-Sisi’s active diplomatic efforts on local and regional fronts aimed at achieving peace and resolving conflicts, particularly concerning the pivotal Palestinian issue. These efforts coincide with the President’s focus on domestic files to meet citizens’ aspirations and preserve the gains recently made by the national economy.
Madbouly mentioned the recent visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, emphasizing that discussions between the two leaders covered regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza. They also affirmed Egypt’s commitment to overcoming obstacles for UAE investments. The PM pointed to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s praise for the significant improvement in Egypt’s investment climate, reinforcing the necessity of continuous government action to attract more Foreign Direct and Indirect Investment to Egypt.
Addressing regional stability further, the PM referenced President El-Sisi’s recent reception of the Special Envoy of the President of South Korea, during which the President reiterated Egypt’s firm position on the war in the Gaza Strip. On the domestic front, Madbouly referenced the numerous meetings held by President El-Sisi to review the executive, logistical, and preparatory details for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), scheduled for November 1st.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for all concerned ministries and agencies to meticulously review all ongoing work, as there is now less than a month until the inauguration of this magnificent cultural landmark. He insisted that preparations for the grand opening ceremony must be at the highest level of brilliance, reflecting Egypt’s ancient civilization and its capability to organize major global events.
The Prime Minister also spoke about his ongoing tours across governorates, the latest of which was in Menoufia, to inspect and inaugurate various developmental and service projects, particularly those under the Presidential Initiative “Hayah Kareema” (Decent Life) for the development of Egyptian villages.
Madbouly confirmed noticeable progress in improving the quality of life in targeted villages, especially in essential services like drinking water and sanitation. He affirmed that the sectors of Health and Education, along with the Hayah Kareema initiative and improving the quality of services, are at the forefront of the government’s priorities for the current and future phases. This focus follows the billions of pounds the state has invested in basic infrastructure over the past period.
