Djibouti’s Prime Minister, Abdulkader Kamil Mohamed, expressed his country’s pride in the longstanding and historic relations with Egypt, highlighting the momentum and progress in bilateral ties across various sectors during his meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador to Djibouti, Abdelrahman Raafat.
Ambassador Raafat emphasized Egypt’s commitment to supporting Djibouti in strategic sectors such as energy, electricity, and healthcare. He also outlined the Egyptian government’s training programs and capacity-building initiatives for Djibouti, implemented under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and following his visit to Djibouti in April 2025.
The ambassador praised the high level of bilateral coordination between Egypt and Djibouti in regional and international forums and thanked the Djiboutian Prime Minister for supporting Dr. Khaled El-Anany’s candidacy for UNESCO Director-General. He also expressed hope for continued collaboration in future international nominations.
The meeting further covered issues of mutual interest, including the Palestinian cause, the stability of the Horn of Africa, and cooperation on maritime and water security, reflecting the deepening partnership and strategic dialogue between the two nations.
