Cairo: EgyPulse – News Desk

Egypt and Qatar have emphasized the importance of building on the regional and international momentum created by US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan for Gaza. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as they stressed that such momentum is an opportunity that should be seized to halt the bloodshed and end the unprecedented humanitarian disaster facing the Palestinian people.

The phone call is part of ongoing Arab coordination and discussions regarding the latest developments related to efforts aimed at halting the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamim Khalaf, said that the two ministers stressed the Arab firm position, which calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities, ensuring the full access of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to Gaza, and rejecting any attempts to forcibly displace or alter the demographic realities in the region.

The minister also emphasized the unity of Palestinian territories between Gaza and the West Bank as a core foundation for achieving the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
