Sharm El-Sheikh is set to host the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI) from October 27 to 31. During the event, Egypt’s Accountability State Authority (ASA) will present a new national vision for leveraging artificial intelligence in public audit work with this theme expected to be one of the congress’s highlights.
Egypt’s proposal focuses on anticipating the future of the auditing profession amid global digital transformation, demonstrating how AI technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing, can assist auditors. Egypt will showcase the potential of AI to analyze data, detect patterns, and identify discrepancies more accurately and efficiently, boosting transparency and accountability in managing public resources.
The presentation also introduces the concept of hybrid auditing, which combines automated analysis capabilities with human professional judgment, striking a balance between technology and auditors’ ethical and professional conscience.
Egypt is expected to showcase its experience in training auditors to use AI tools and in establishing professional and ethical standards to ensure responsible use of modern technologies, making its approach a potential international model.
The INCOSAI, hosted by Egypt through the ASA, is the top event on the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) agenda. It serves as the supreme decision-making forum within the global auditing system and helps shape future directions for accountability and transparency worldwide.
