The ministers also underscored the importance of ensuring stability and security across Syria while preserving its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
They also emphasized the need to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and to prevent Syrian territory from becoming a source of threat to security and stability of neighboring countries and the region. The two sides called on the international community to intensify humanitarian aid, as well as early recovery and reconstruction assistance, to help improve living conditions for the Syrian people on the ground.
Horn of Africa: They also highlighted the importance of maintaining stability in the Horn of Africa. Reaffirming their steadfast support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, the ministers voiced backing for the Somali federal government’s counterterrorism efforts.
They encouraged international partners to ensure predictable and sustainable funding for the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).

Sudan: Both ministers expressed regret and concern over the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has led to devastating humanitarian consequences. They reaffirmed their commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and public order. The Turkish side welcomed the efforts of the Quad group of countries aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan.
Libya: The statement further noted that Egypt and Türkiye remain determined to work together to preserve Libya’s stability, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They affirmed support to international efforts, particularly the United Nations roadmap.
Eastern Mediterranean: The ministers also reiterated their shared vision of the Eastern Mediterranean as a region of prosperity and stability.
Connectivity, Cooperation: They underlined the growing importance of bilateral and regional connectivity, vowing to build on existing cooperation and promote new joint projects in the fields of energy and transport.
Abdelatty embarked on a visit to Ankara on Wednesday, where he delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Erdogan on bilateral relations and preparations for the second High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, to be co-chaired by the two leaders in Cairo in 2026.
