Egypt’s exports of chemical products totalled US$6.8 billion in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This was reported by Daily News Egypt, a TV BRICS partner.
According to the General Organisation for Export and Import Control of Egypt, growth was driven by several product groups. Fertilisers contributed the most, with shipments increasing by 9%. The intermediate chemicals and detergents segments also showed positive growth of 13% and 11% respectively. Exports of glass and rubber products continued to demonstrate upward trends.
Arab states accounted for 22% of total exports, Asian countries for 17%, and African markets for 6%. Brazil ranked among the top three importers of Egyptian chemical products, with purchases amounting to US$485.7 million.
Chairman of the Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council of Egypt Khaled Abu El-Makarem stated that, in the coming year, trade missions to African and European countries are planned to further develop export potential. In line with the national Vision 2030 strategy, particular attention will be given to increasing the share of high value-added chemical products.
