A comprehensive strategy to cement the iron and steel industry in Egypt over the next ten years is being implemented, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Sunday. In a statement released after the meeting a several ministers, that strategy has been prepared by a specialized committee that will study various proposals and recommendations aimed at advancing the industry.
Madbouly emphasized that the strategy aims to turn Egypt into a regional center for the iron and steel industry, maximizing relevant assets and capabilities. The latest technologies applied in this sector, ensuring the desired growth and sustainability, increasing production efficiency, ensuring quality, and ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in many global markets.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Kamel El-Wazir highlighted efforts to localize and deepen industries that feed into the iron and steel industry, considering the outputs of this industry as inputs for many other industries, which supports industrial sectors in general.
