Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will inaugurate the Grand Egyptian Museum Saturday evening, marking a landmark event in the history of culture and human civilization.

A total of 79 official delegations, including 39 led by kings, princes, and heads of state and government, are set to attend the opening ceremony – reflecting the global community’s deep appreciation for Egypt’s ancient heritage and its enduring cultural and humanitarian influence.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the Official Spokesperson for the Presidency, announced that the event will be graced by kings, queens, crown princes, and members of royal families from Belgium, Spain, Denmark, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, Monaco, Japan, and Thailand.

Presidents of Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Portugal, Armenia, Germany, Croatia, Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, Colombia, Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Eritrea, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta will also be in attendance, along with the Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council and the Head of the Yemeni Leadership Council.

The spokesperson added that the Prime Ministers of Greece, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, and Uganda are also expected to take part in the ceremony.

In addition, high-level ministerial and parliamentary delegations from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Qatar, Morocco, Tunisia, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, the Vatican, Malta, Romania, Russia, Ireland, Serbia, Turkey, Italy, Singapore, India, Kyrgyzstan, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Zambia, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, South Africa, Gabon, Chad, Kenya, Rwanda, Togo, Brazil, Canada, and the United States will be represented.

Regional and international organizations will also participate, including the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and the High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, representing the United Nations Secretary-General.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and several heads and representatives of major international corporations are also expected to attend.

Ambassador El-Shenawy noted that this unprecedented international representation at the inauguration of the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization underscores the global recognition of Egypt’s vision – one that harmoniously bridges the legacy of the past, the creativity of the present, and the promise of the future. It also reaffirms Egypt’s standing as a civilizational crossroads and a beacon for all nations that cherish culture, peace, and human connection.
